Futsal Gala Day

To all the Futsal stars who went above and beyond.

On Tuesday, the 26th of July, ACC’s Under 15 Girls Futsal team went to the top and claimed the title of the futsal champions. The team included Harriett, Kate, Georgia M, Amalie, Maiya , Miah, Sophie and Annalise H, who all played excellently and contributed to the title.

The girls kicked off the day confidently and eager to win, as they versed Mid Coast Christian School winning by a long shot. After that they were on a roll. Until, they unfortunately got taken out by Hunter Christian School. That however didn’t put them off, they kept fighting.

The great support along the sidelines really helped the girls keep fighting to claim the title of the grand finalist winners. This amazing support came from our open girls team that made it to the semifinals, however sadly didn’t make it any further.

The U15 girls were very determined to keep pushing through the sweat and injuries to make it into the grand final. Our grand final team ended up as Georgia Mercieca and Miah Darmody as strikers, Kate Dutton and Maiya Garner as defenders and not forgetting our amazing goalie Amalie Harris. These girls worked as a team through their passing and shooting skills to get their goals as well as their defending skills to guard their own goal.

When the time was up, the girls were tied with Mid Coast. It all came down to the penalty shoot outs. The pressure was on. Our team took our first two shots and missed both. Luckily, Mid Coast did too. We got our third shot in and it all came down to Mid Coasts last shot. It was an incredibly tense moment but thanks to our awesome goalie their shot was blocked and ACC won!

The day ended with screaming, cheering, hugging and so much celebration as it was ACC’s first ever win at a sporting event. These superstars couldn’t wait to get their hands on the trophy and have their full moment of glory. Congratulations to all these girls that showed up, put in the effort and still came out on top. Hopefully we can do the same next year and take out the fabulous title and glory of being the Girls Futsal Grand Finalist Champions again!
